VACANCIES AT ROMANIAN ACADEMIC SOCIETY
Romanian Academic Society (SAR), the leading Romanian think-tank, has three job openings in its national and regional programs. We seek highly motivated young professionals who are willing to make a difference by their professional contribution. Knowledge of English language is compulsory and a degree from a Western university is preferable. Each application will be considered by its own merit. Please quote job number in your application. POSITION 001. ECONOMIST The successful applicant will work in policy analysis (including impact studies) in interdisciplinary projects focused on local fiscal policies, regional development, social policies and policies encouraging economic development etc. The responsibilities will cover preparation and management of research projects including project and research design, documentation, collection and analysis of data, preparation and dissemination of research outputs, reporting, and networking. The successful candidate will work both independently and in interdisciplinary team. Requirements - Strong academic background (preferably higher degree) in economics - knowledgeable in statistics and cost analysis - previous experience in impact studies and project management represents an advantage - analytical capacity, innovative and “out-of-the-box” thinking - communication abilities, academic writing and excellent English skills are a must - computer and internet research skills are a must POSITION 002. PROJECT COORDINATOR – INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS & EUROPEAN STUDIES Applications are invited for a position of project coordinator in the field of international relations and European studies. He or she will have to develop and manage the IR programs of SAR especially in Western Balkans and former Soviet countries. The responsibilities will cover preparation and management of projects including project and research design, documentation, collection and analysis of data, preparation and dissemination of research outputs, reporting, networking, preparation and organization of international events. The successful candidate will work both independently and in team. Requirements: - Strong academic background (preferably higher degree) in International Relations/Political Science/European Studies - excellent knowledge of EU Neighbourhood Policy - good knowledge of the developments in Western Balkans and Moldova are compulsory - previous experience in project management represents an advantage - analytical capacity - communication abilities, academic writing and excellent English skills are a must - computer and internet research skills are a must POSITION 003. FINANCIAL OFFICER The position involves management of budgets of the current projects of the organization including reporting to the funders as well as participation in the planning phase of the projects on the budgetary aspects. The work involves close cooperation with project coordinators and other administrative staff. Requirements - previous experience in budget management including management of tendering procedures - experience in European funded projects is required - capacity of dealing with multiple tasks - the person needs to be well organized with excellent time management and able to respect strict deadlines - good command of Microsoft Excel is compulsory - communication abilities and good English skills are a must Only short-listed candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview by December 5th, 2006. |
