PolSci Focus: Twenty Years After: from Fall to Fall?

Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin wall, Eastern and Central Europe has traveled the full cycle: from the greatest success to the greatest liability. How sustainable is the success of Eastern European countries? What explains their uneven performance during the transition and integration years? Is “catching-up” to remain only a distant dream, after the economic crisis? Are the lines dividing the region to become permanent? We invite papers which address these issues in a historical and comparative manner. PolSci (Romanian Journal of Political Science) is indexed by ISI Thompson, IPSA, GESIS, CIAONET, EBSCO, CEEOL and EPNET.

POLSCI (Romanian Journal of Political Science) is a bi-annual journal edited by the Romanian Academic Society. It is the first peer reviewed journal of political science in Romania and also the first in the field being indexed by ISI Thompson under the Social Sciences Citation Index. The journal benefits from the extensive experience and professionalism of the board members and from valuable contributions of researchers and scholars in the field, being also indexed by other prominent institutions such as IPSA, GESIS, CIAONET, EBSCO, CEEOL and EPNET.

The journal invites academic papers, reviews of recent publications and announcements of forthcoming volumes on the success and failures of Eastern European governments in their 20 year transition to democracy. We welcome contributions from various fields of research in social sciences. The papers can address topics within the regional debate, or where Eastern Europe is placed in the wider theoretical and geographical debate on transition to democracy. PolSci accepts a limited number of articles outside its focus to be published in the current or future issues.

PolSci is accepting articles with lengths between 5,000 and 12,000 words, edited in Times New Roman, font size 12 and 1.5 lines spacing. References and citations should follow Harvard Style. Your submission must be accompanied by the following information:
 – name and surname of the author(s);
 – institution and position held;
 – research interests (max 50 words);
 – abstract (max 400 words);
 – keywords (max 5).

Please send your submissions in Word format at polsci@sar.org.ro, by September 15th 2009, midnight CET.
